Loro Piana Workshop of Wonders at Harrods

Loro Piana embraced the holiday season at Harrods with Workshop of Wonders, a magical journey into the Maison’s incredible history, heritage, and savoir-faire, and a celebration of its 100 years of excellence. The impressive takeover included 36 windows, pop-up stores, workshops, and various animations, offering a captivating, engaging, and entertaining experience.

Blurring the line between fantasy and reality, Workshops of Wonders unfurled a story of unparalleled mastery that tributes the Maison’s exclusive community of Masters of Fibres. It transported visitors to faraway lands inhabited by the animals that produce the rarest, finest fibres in the world, lovingly and skilfully transformed into exquisite creations to be cherished forever.

The Brompton Road Façade

Wrapped in time-honoured custom, a beautifully lit holiday tree conjured images of fairytale magic. Workshop of Wonders spread the festive glow across Harrods’ iconic and majestic façade on Brompton Road, decked out to mesmerizing effect. Here, the traditional holiday symbol was reimagined through the Loro Piana lens to narrate the story of a fibre. As light as a cloud, this precious and rare fibre was transported on a conveyor belt before magically transforming into cloth through an incredible mechanism, ultimately creating a 17-meter tree decorated with swathes of fabric and exclusive ornaments.

Windows

With its full takeover, Workshop of Wonders brought pure joy and excitement from Brompton Road and around all 36 windows, narrating incredible stories of uniqueness in the locations and communities of Loro Piana’s Masters of Fibres. From Mongolia to Australia and beyond, the installation traced the journey to one ultimate destination – Italy. Here, the world’s finest fibres and raw materials have since long been masterfully transformed into exquisite objects of desire and exclusive presents for the holiday season, to give or to unwrap. Permeated by a refined 1920s feel, evocative of the Maison’s origins, the installations came to life with elaborate moving sets that combined the idea of a marionette theatre with its exposed behind-the-scenes mechanisms and the hand-made woodsy charm typical of artisanal workshops.
